Milk & Honey serves the birth community in Southern Nevada by supporting, educating, and caring for every mother with the warmth she deserves during the birth of her child.
I believe in helping mothers find the power within themselves to accomplish what they were gifted to do. A doula and a midwife should be available for every woman. With honor, I commit myself to helping any expectant mother through my role as her doula or midwife. I support her decisions in birthing the way that she wants.
Our journey together may begin as early as when you discover your pregnancy to later in your pregnancy, closer to when baby should come.
I meet with my clients to discuss a variety of things such as their hopes and fears regarding childbirth and parenting. I will also spend time teaching my client and her birth partner about the birthing process as well as prepare her physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually for the birth that she desires for baby. I can also help her birth partner identify their role in the mother's labor and help them be the best support that they can. We may also spend some time talking about the unexpected aspects of labor and parenting a newborn.
I will arrive to be with my client, wherever she may be, as soon as she is in active labor and help her find comfort through rhythm and relaxation. I will be able to help her through contractions with different breathing techniques, massage, and encouraging words.
I will visit you either (the hospital/birth center/home) depending on your needs. I can check on breastfeeding, breasts, baby, and uterus. I am always available to answer questions and get you the information you need.
When a woman is in labor, she has pain, because her hour has come. But when her child is born, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy of having brought a human being into the world.
